Common Mistake: Not getting a Mentor!

In fact, if I see one common mistake for most folks traveling the path to financial freedom, it is going into situations blind. Deciding they are going to invest in real estate or the stock market with out education FIRST. Or worst they decide to use trial and error as their teacher. Ignorance is an expensive lesson. It is always cheaper to buy the MAP. Getting lost can cost you time and money.

I would much rather take the advice of two of my mentors, Napoleon Hill and Jim Rohn. Jim Rohn kept encouraged me to learn more. Because as you learn more you earn more. Become more valuable to the people around you, your employer, the marketplace and self. Education, and following a Mentor are absolutely the path to Riches. Get GREAT mentors in your life and your life will become a master piece in short period of time.

Unfortunately, even if you work hard at your job, there is no guarantee they will keep you. Cut backs and layoffs are a common occurrence. What would you do if you lost your job today? Are you like the average person? The average person goes through their savings and checking in 3 months, then credit cards, and are BROKE. That is scary. You must have more than one source of income, hopefully many! More importantly, build a retirement nest egg, that will take care of you. At least 2 million dollars. Lots of folks 2 Million is enough. It time for you to step up and grab the gold ring. To become worth more, earn, more and build financial freedom. Take Jim Rohns advice. WORK on YOURSELF. Dedicate some time, money, and effort to improving your skills in: buying real estate, managing your money, picking stocks, cutting taxes, opening a business, and protection your assets.

Napoleon Hill was right too. In your life you must pay the price for specialized knowledge, whether you buy it, become an apprentice to a master craftsman, or tap a master mind group. Find those experts, and put them on your team. The simplest way is to buy their time and knowledge. I loved most of Napoleons book "Think and Grow Rich". Many of the concepts I live today. All successful people have at the base, the characteristics from his book. You must have:

Desire
Faith
Organized Planning
Specialized Knowledge

Here are just of a few of the Mentors in my life. Folks that were kind enough to share their philosophy and strategy. I have dozens more, some well known (Warren Buffet, William O'Neill), others that are just quietly making money on the internet (Armand Morin-50 Million a year) or stock market. At last count, several years ago, I spent over 81K on training's, mentors, education and books and tapes. Now I can in turn share my experience and strategies you!

Although I cannot list all my mentors. Here are few that made a major difference in my life. If you come to my house, you will find 14ft bookshelves filled with BOOKS, vidoe, audio, manuals, and self study materials. I thought it might be useful for you to pick up a book or two, to get you on the path. Therefore, beside each mentor, I have include a link to their book. An idea can turn your life around or turn you on.....

	Jim Rohn was one of my early mentors. When I was working at the fortune 500 company (Rogers Canada), I started listening to Rohn. His life stories, strategies, and philosophy shaped my life. I particular enjoyed the Art of exceptional living, and seasons of life. Pick it up it will make a difference.Later in life, I got the change to meet the person who had made such a difference in my life. I glad to meet him, take a picture and have sign my "journal". And just a few years later he passed away. Seize the Moment!
	Charles J Givens. So I was in Toronto promoting speakers. I promoted Ken Blanchard, Don Hutson, Brian Tracy, and many more. When I looked around Canada for a financial speaker, there were none. I turned to the USA and found Charles J Givens. I went to florida, to speak with him about speaking for me in Toronto. 6 months later I was working with him. I built his: SuperSelf division, business workshops, estate planning, Tax products, and estate planning division.
	Tony Robbins. What a great personal development teacher. He had a major influence on my beliefs, about what I was capable of accomplishing. And turned me on to NLP. I am a certified NLP trainer (Bandler directly). In fact. I bought a "franchise" from Tony, and taught his programs for a couple years. I promoted the FIRST firewalk in Canada! by Tony.
	Brian Tracy. The SMARTEST man I know. What an incredible man. A great business man. Author of 54 books. Outstanding trainer. And it does not matter what the topic. Business. Motivation. Human Development. Selling. Leadership. He Rocks I promoted his Phoneix workshop in Toronto a couple of times. I love it! If you get chance spend as much time with Brian as you can, it is worth every penny.
	Og Mandino. I promoted Og in Toronto. Hundred of folks came out to see him. What a pleasure to hear his philosophy on life. He blessed thousands with his message. He was a true inspiration to all around him. He will be missed.
	Sir John Templeton. An outstanding investor. The Franklin-Templeton Fund has made Billions. I studied his strategies for years. And had the good fortune to teach with him the Bahamas years later. Where he was a feature guest speaker, and I was talking on International Real Estate Investing.
	In 2010, I wanted to learn more about the Internet Business. I have had web sites since 1995. I heard of an ineresting guy, out there from several of my speaker friends. Stephen Pierce. Since I did not know, him, I put together a FED EX package and sent it to one of the address on one of his web sites. Shortly there after we talked, met, and we started doing work together. He helping me with some internet tactics and I helping with his business. A great synergist relationship from day 1.
